Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical shooter with no campaign and no interest in being forgiving. Five attackers try to enter a building, five defenders try to keep them out, and almost every wall, floor and ceiling can be destroyed or reinforced.

What makes it last is that the destruction is a planning tool rather than spectacle. A hole punched in the right wall changes the whole round. Rounds are short, there is no respawn, and a single mistake ends your involvement - which is exactly why people have played it for years.
