NBA 2K23 tightened the shooting mechanics after a couple of divisive years, and added a shot meter you can turn off entirely in exchange for a scoring bonus if your timing holds up.

The standout addition is the Jordan Challenges - fifteen recreations of specific Michael Jordan games, each with period-accurate presentation down to the broadcast filter. They are the best thing 2K has done with its historical licence in years.
