God of War Ragnarok closes the Norse arc that began in 2018. Fimbulwinter has set in, Atreus is older and pushing against his father in ways Kratos has no idea how to handle, and the prophecy hanging over both of them is no longer avoidable.

It is a bigger game than its predecessor in almost every direction, opening up the remaining realms and giving Atreus playable sections of his own. Combat expands with new weapon abilities and a shield system that finally makes defence a real choice rather than a formality.
