FIFA 13 arrived at a point when the series was making real changes to how the ball behaved. First Touch Control meant a pass could be genuinely misjudged, which sounds like a small thing and changed how the midfield played entirely.

Attacking Intelligence had forward players read space several moves ahead rather than running fixed lines, and the tactical free-kick system let you position multiple players on a set piece. On PlayStation 3 it remains a good, unhurried football game.
