WWE 2K22 was a rebuild after the series took a year off, and the difference is immediate. The controls were redesigned from the ground up, with a simplified combo system and reworked reversals that make matches read more clearly than the previous entries did.

MyGM returned that year as the brand-management mode, sitting alongside MyRISE for a created wrestler's career and a showcase mode built around Rey Mysterio.
