The Order: 1886 imagines a Victorian London where an ancient order of knights has been fighting half-breeds for centuries, sustained by a substance that keeps them alive far beyond a normal lifespan. It is unapologetically linear and cinematic, closer to a directed thriller than an open-world game.

The alternate history is the draw. Tesla supplies the order's weaponry, airships hang over the city, and the whole thing is presented in a constant widescreen frame with no visible cuts between play and cutscene.
